Navigating the wisdom of your body

My work as a trauma-informed and trauma-trained somatic practitioner is deeply rooted in safety and attunement. It’s my goal to serve as the loving witness to help you reconnect with and unlock the innate healing wisdom within your nervous system and body.

My approach is grounded in compassion, safety, and an understanding of the body’s innate ability to heal when given the right tools, attunement, space, and environment.

In-session support

  • Polyvagal Theory focuses on understanding how the autonomic nervous system governs our responses to safety, danger, and connection. By working with this knowledge, we can learn how to regulate our nervous system more effectively, promoting organic shifts from survival states (fight, flight, freeze) to states of connection and safety. This is essential for healing trauma, as it helps the body feel safe enough to move out of old patterns of survival over time and experience more balance, connection, and ease.

  • Somatic Mindfulness is the practice of bringing awareness to present-moment sensations and emotions as they arise in the body. By slowly meeting sensations in this way, we can develop a more attuned relationship with our internal states, increasing our capacity to stay present, even in discomfort. This builds resilience by teaching the nervous system to respond to stress and triggers with more flexibility and adaptability, rather than reactivity.

  • Somatically-focused healing works with the body’s stress response, helping to discharge stored tension and create new pathways for healing. By focusing on areas of tension and ease in the body, this modality facilitates the completion of stress cycles in the body, creating space for more ease, flow, and connection. The benefits lie in its ability to unlock the body’s natural healing processes, enhancing stress resilience and our ability to recover from stressful situations and triggers more quickly over time.

  • Somatic Parts Work offers a way to work with fragmented aspects of the self, often created as a result of trauma. By gently accessing and integrating these parts, we allow for deeper healing and resolution. This practice enables us to acknowledge the different "parts" of ourselves that may be stuck in survival responses, offering them a space to be seen, heard, and reintegrated into the whole self. This can lead to profound shifts in self-awareness and emotional balance.

  • Somatic Experiencing® is a body-first approach to resolving trauma developed by Dr. Peter Levine. Through small, titrated steps, Somatic Experiencing allows the nervous system to slowly complete and renegotiate trauma on a body-level, as well as build our capacity to move through stress responses. This careful and gradual process helps restore a sense of safety in the body over time, while also connecting us to the primal life force (healthy aggression) that is our birthright to experience.

  • Trauma-Informed Breathwork Modalities offer a safe, titrated way to reconnect with your body and move through physical/emotional blockages. These practices are tailored to be gentle and supportive, ensuring that breathwork does not overwhelm the system, but rather facilitates healing at a pace that feels safe and manageable for your system.
